Guide - Maelstrom
If you're eager to embark on epic adventures on Whitemane's Maelstrom server, don't worry - it's simple to get started.
Below you will find a step-by-step guide to download the game and start playing.
Step 1: Create an account
If you haven't already, simply click the button below to create your account. After registration, be sure to click the confirmation link sent to your email.
Step 2: Download the game
We offer two options for downloading the game. The full client has a larger size but is complete, ensuring the quickest game performance. Alternatively, there's a mini client that's lightweight and downloads game files as you play. This option may lead to slower load times, but it's the quickest way to dive into the action.

Step 3: Play!
Once you've downloaded the game, simply right-click on the downloaded ".zip" file and unpack it in your desired location. Then, open the game folder and launch the game using Wow-64.exe. When logging in, remember to use your username instead of your email, as using your email won't work!
Or use your own game client
If you already have the game, you can start playing on Whitemane quickly and easily with just two simple steps.
First: get our realmlist. Go to your "World of Warcraft\Data\enGB" folder (or the equivalent for your game localization, but it’s usually enGB or enUS) and open the "realmlist.wtf" file using a text editor.
Delete all the text inside and paste the following line:
set realmlist logon.gamefreedom.org
After you’re done, modify your config file. Navigate to the "World of Warcraft\WTF" folder, open the “Config.wtf” file using a text editor and locate the line that starts with "SET realmlist".
Delete it and replace it with the following:
SET realmlist "logon.gamefreedom.org"
Once you've completed these two steps, you're all set up to play the game on Whitemane's server using your own client. Enjoy!
Please note that while both Maelstrom and Shadowsong servers use the same Cataclysm 4.3.4 client, Shadowsong is vastly different due to the various modifications it uses, which completely change the way you play. As a result, these two servers are not compatible, so we recommend keeping two separate clients if you plan to play on both.
Troubleshooting
In case of client errors "Failed to download data..." or "Unable to connect", download WoW.mfil file from below and paste it inside World of Warcraft folder, replacing the existing file.

To play on Shadowsong (Beta), you need to download the game client. Please note that Shadowsong is available only in English (US).
Step 3: Play!

Troubleshooting
